We’ll focus on the music of two great Miltown Malbay pipers, Willie Clancy and my grandfather Tommy McCarthy. We will dive into the musical intricacies that distinguish the West Clare style of piping from other regions. Through detailed work on ornamentation, rhythm, and tune interpretation you’ll learn how to incorporate some of the creativity, wildness, and spontaneity of these two master pipers.
